My name is Anna, I offer counselling and psychotherapy in Middlewich, Cheshire as well as hypnotherapy where helpful.
I offer a calm, respectful therapeutic relationship where you can explore what matters to you—at your own pace.
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”
Carl Jung

Life doesn’t come with a map, and each of us is navigating our own path. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons - sometimes with a clear goal, and sometimes with just a sense that something isn’t quite right.
You might be considering therapy because you're facing changes that leave you feeling a little lost or overwhelmed. You might feel stuck, or simply not your usual self. Or perhaps you're carrying thoughts or feelings from earlier experiences that haven’t yet had space to be heard.
These experiences can quietly shape how we feel day to day—sometimes showing up as anxiety, low mood, or a sense of being unsettled.
Therapy offers a chance to pause. A space to reflect, make sense of what’s coming up, and begin to feel clearer and more grounded.
I believe we all have the capacity to heal when met with compassion and understanding. When we feel genuinely seen and safe, we begin to reconnect with who we truly are - and from that place, change becomes possible.
Therapy offers a space unlike any other: free from judgement, expectation, or agenda. It’s a relationship built on trust, curiosity, and respect, giving you the freedom to explore whatever feels important.
I work in a pluralistic way, meaning each session is guided by what matters to you. I may draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches when it feels supportive - such as Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Ego-state therapy, or the use of hypnosis - but we’ll always talk these through together, and you’ll decide what feels right for you.
Every session is tailored to you as a person - not just the issue you bring. I’ll support you in exploring what’s beneath the surface, gently encouraging meaningful and lasting change. I bring an authentic, compassionate presence while also helping you face the difficult parts with honesty and care. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe while still moving forward.
In our counselling and psychotherapy work together, I will ensure you have regular opportunity to share with me how therapy is supporting you and what feels most helpful as we go. This helps us shape the work in a way that reflects your evolving needs and keeps us moving towards the changes you want to achieve.
I offer hypnosis as an optional adjunct within the safety of a psychotherapeutic relationship and framework. This
allows us to understand the issue you bring in a broader context and work in a holistic, integrated way.
Hypnosis is is a natural state of focused relaxation - similar to being absorbed in a book or film - where you remain aware, in control, and able to reflect more deeply. This state can help calm the nervous system, ease anxiety, and open up space for creative problem-solving. Hypnosis works well alongside exploration of self‑understanding, inner conflict, and relationship dynamics. It can also be helpful to people experiencing issues with sleep and stress.
Unlike stage hypnosis, therapeutic hypnosis is ethical and respectful. You’ll always know what is happening and remember what is said. I would never use hypnosis without your permission, and it’s always your choice.
My path into training to be a psychotherapist wasn’t a straight line. It began with a period of deep personal change that gave me lived insight into what it means to rebuild from within—exploring identity, facing challenges, and making meaningful shifts. That journey led me not only to therapy as a client, but eventually to becoming a practitioner committed to supporting others with warmth, respect, and understanding.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) which is the body that oversees Data Protection in the UK and I also maintain an up to date insurance policy to cover my work with clients. The NSTT prohibits use of testimonials as it, along with other relevant professional associations, deem them to be unethical due to a number of valid reasons. As a result you will not find any testimonials on my website.
Your privacy is very important to me. Any personal information you share will be kept safe, secure, and used only for the purpose of providing therapy. I follow UK data protection laws (including GDPR) and store records carefully for the time required by professional and legal standards, before securely destroying them. You have rights over your data—including access, correction, and deletion—and I’m always happy to explain how this policy works in practice. If you ever have concerns, you can raise them with me directly or with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
I keep clear boundaries around social media to protect your privacy and uphold confidentiality. My personal accounts are private and separate from my therapy practice, and I don’t use social media for therapy communication. You can always reach me through the agreed professional channels, and I’m happy to discuss this policy if needed.
If you have a complaint or have experienced something suboptimal within our therapy sessions, I would encourage you first of all to speak to me about this. Difficult issues can often end up being helpful to progress with therapy. It may be that I have missed to consider something, that once you make me aware I can improve or address. If however, you decide the best route is to make a formal complaint this can be done via the NSTT website:
